The Product Managers toolkit has traditionally relied primarily on general productivity tools like Excel, Word and PowerPoint. What happens when you make the change to something that has been specifically designed to help Product Managers?
Take your Product Management toolkit to the next level using Gocious
In the recent Gocious webinar, "Take your Product Management toolkit to the next level using Gocious" available to watch on-demand, we discussed how Gocious can save you time and help you become more productive.
Our Product Management expert, Jeff Strunk, started the webinar talking about how Gocious product roadmapping software provides support at each stage of the product management lifecycle that will improve the quality and throughput of your product management methods. We then started an exercise with our Product Owner Kevin Jankay to show just how quick and easy it is to start using Gocious by getting Kevin to start a free trial.
Next, Jeff and Director of Customer Success Simon Leyland, started the "Gocious Challenge" were we pitted Gocious against the traditionally used spreadsheet in a series of 6 tasks that most Product Managers would have to go through as part of a new product development implementation. The tasks consisted of setting up a product matrix, working out what feature combinations to apply, measuring those combinations against internal and external targets, before introducing a change to the product and telling everyone what had changed. In the 10 minutes it took to complete this challenge Gocious completely outshone Excel completing all of the tasks, Excel didn't manage to complete any of the tasks and in some cases couldn't even start them.
We checked back in with Kevin to see how he had got on starting a free trial with Gocious. Whilst the 10 minute Gocious challenge had been running Kevin set-up a workspace, created a product line and imported in some data. His product line consisted of 10 products with over 130 features that could be configured up to 5.2 million ways.
Jeff wrapped up the presentation of the webinar by discussing the hidden costs of "free" tools. The reality is these free tools are anything but free as the cost of using them equates to lost time in productivity, data management and missed opportunities that in our previous experiences have had the potential to cost companies hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The webinar finished with Jeff and Simon taking a Q&A session. Discussing the benefits that the Gocious platform would bring and how it would have helped each of them in their previous roles in product management.
